In this collaborative project, I had the opportunity to work closely with PlasArt-medical Ltd., a company specializing in manufacturing materials. Our project focused on the development of transparent masks, with PlasArt-medical being responsible for producing the material, while my role was to handle the design aspect.
The primary goal of the transparent masks was to facilitate effective communication between individuals by allowing them to easily and clearly understand each other. The masks were designed with transparency in mind, ensuring that facial expressions and lip movements remained visible.
The impact on design encompassed several key factors. First and foremost, we prioritized the breathability and comfort of the masks, recognizing the importance of wearing them for extended periods. We aimed to strike a balance between providing adequate protection and ensuring a pleasant user experience.
Additionally, we carefully considered the advantages and disadvantages of the material chosen for the masks. This involved evaluating factors such as durability, flexibility, and potential drawbacks related to the material's composition.
Furthermore, environmental considerations were taken into account. The plastic material used in the masks was chosen with recyclability and reusability in mind, aiming to minimize waste and promote sustainability. This aligns with the growing global focus on reducing single-use plastic products.
Hygiene was another critical aspect addressed in the design. We incorporated features to ensure that the masks were easy to clean, maintain, and sanitize, thus supporting optimal hygiene practices.
Lastly, flexibility played a crucial role in the design of the masks. We aimed to create a versatile product that could fit a range of face shapes and sizes comfortably, ensuring a secure fit for various individuals.
